We are a faith-based, nonprofit, community development corporation, focused on neighborhood transformation in Portland and beyond. Our work is coming along side churches and service agencies, creating connections, enabling mutual understanding and collaboration.

We believe one of the current shifts needed (and ocurring) in the Western church is a return to local mission and with it a robust theology of cultural engagement. Our hope is to reveal the Kingdom of God in our homes and neighborhoods without excluding foreign mission efforts. Actually we see them as necessarily inter-woven; both local and foreign mission activity are Jesus' work.

In like manner we understand proclaiming the gospel as inseparably including both demonstratable actions (deeds) and verbal explanations (words).  Think of it, Christian people lovingly partnering with their neighbors, community groups, and schools, building authentic relationships as simple and yet profound expressions of the gospel of love, proclaimed in both deeds and words!
